You are ENCOURAGED to participate in our fourth International Chapter Meeting via conference call on Thursday, May 17th at 8:30PM EST. This is our fourth monthly call focused on providing our membership with up to date information regarding the fraternity and our membership initiatives. This month we will focus on our Sigma Beta Clubs. In addition, we will discuss our upcoming Serious Sigma Summit in Charlotte and upcoming events linked to our anti-hazing campaign. Lastly, we will shine the spotlight on the Western Region and discuss their plans for the future. The agenda for our next ‘Chapter Meeting’ is as follows:

According to the Brennan Center of Justice, “about 12 percent of the Americans do not have a government-issued photo ID, the figure for African Americans is closer to 25 percent (5.5 million people), and in some Southern states perhaps higher.” The Brennan Center goes on to add that, “Nationwide, 13% of African American men have lost the right to vote, a rate that is seven times the national average. Given current rates of incarceration, three in ten of the next generation of African-American men across the country can expect to loose their right to vote at some point in their lifetime.” Our right to vote is under attack.

Since its beginning, St Jude has been committed to fighting pediatric cancer, sickle cell, and other deadly diseases that threaten children’s lives. And the support of the National Pan-Hellenic Council is critical to that fight.

George Zimmerman discharged his firearm. Trayvon Martin dead. The first is an admitted fact. The second is a medical fact. Beyond these two facts, virtually everything else in the death of Trayvon Martin is conjecture or assumption. In a country based in the rule of the law, neither conjecture nor assumption can be allowed to stand as fact; or as justice.
