More than 250 attend vigil at U of I for shooting victims

URBANA — More than 250 people turned out at the University of Illinois Quad on Monday night for a candlelight prayer vigil for those affected by the weekend shootings. Friends and fellow members of Phi Beta Sigma asked the crowd to pray for UI alumnus Brian Reed, who was critically injured after being shot at a house party early Sunday in Urbana.

On 11/13/2011 in the early morning hours three members of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign family-two alumni and one current student-were shot at a private house party near campus. Response Team members from the Counseling Center will be available for students impacted by the shooting incident at the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC) at 7:00 p.m.

Sexual Assaults in Dallas Area Potentially Targeting Members of Delta Sigma Theta

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Headquarters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been notified of a series of four sexual assaults in the Dallas area that appear to involve members of the Sorority. The victims are all black females in their mid-50s to mid-60s. Certain information suggests that members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority are potential targets of the suspect.
